Our quality Cold In-Place Recycling (CIPR) reduces the life cycle cost of the pavement structure by reusing the existing asphalt pavement and can be considered wherever cracking, permanent deformation or loss of integrity in the existing bituminous pavement occur. As a pioneer in CIPR, ALSEC Engineering & Construction LLP offers different technologies and processes that can be used in accordance with the conditions on-site. The basic technology is the same for all cold recyclers, however: small quantities of cement are spread out ahead, the asphalt layer is granulated to the desired depth, the granulate is mixed with the binding agent and water as well as bitumen emulsion or foamed bitumen, then repaved and compacted.
CIPR is considered the most effective process to mitigate reflective cracking in a cold climate and is widely utilized as a cost-effective rehabilitation alternative to traditional reconstruction methods due to its comparatively low cost, higher life cycle, and ease of construction.
StepsInvolved
Cold In-Place Recycling (CIPR) is an on-grade pavement rehabilitation method which mainly consists of the following steps –
Advantages ofCIPR
- Full Utilization of Existing Pavement
- Environmentally Friendly technology – No heating of material required
- Reduced use of fossil fuels
- Reusability of material saves cost
- Produces thick homogeneous bound layer with no weak interface between thinner pavement layers
- Does not necessitate the suspension of full traffic flow
Applications
CIPR can be applied for
- Ravelling
- Weathering
- Bleeding
- Corrugations
- Shoving
- Slippage
- Rutting
- Shallow Potholes
- Cracking
- Patches
